about fed up, getting driftwood

So you guys are saying just boil any old stick you find on the ground? Im going to go out and find a nice big stick and boil it? Thats it? Any kind I shouldnt pick up?

Dead and heavy it needs to be, like if its spongy and crumbly, you dont wana be usin it in a tank itll just breake down and be a huge mess hard to get rid of, ive heard sap is poisonous also

Yea, you want dead wood, snaps easy, with no green inside or bark left on it.too soft is no good

my LFS has some pieces of driftwood. is there anyway to treat driftwood besides soaking it or boiling it? something that wont take weeks to treat?
 
Just be careful that the wood isn't rotting. Try and scratch it and if you get a lot of pulp behind your nails then that is not a good sign.
