I already got the fish and Before doing so did research and asked the people here. Senegals are captive bred albinos that are way smaller, Angelfish and Ctenopoma are fine.thats to small for bichir angelfish or ctenopoma. Would go with tetra's or maybe a pair of convicts.
I dont remember the exact stats of it but its an Eheim external canister filter that has a capacity larger than my aquarium and am running 2 sponge filters alongside it. I asked here and majority of the people said it was an ok set up but could be better which I acknowledge.sorry but 80cm? senegal or ctenopoma thats some stupid advice in my opinion. senegal still get around 20cm even the smaller ones. My ctenopomas all became around 19cm and some people on this forum got them around 23cm. I think you would be overstocking that tank. What filter you have?
Also Heard that the Leopard Bushfish gets around 6 inches Max that is like 15 centimeters.sorry but 80cm? senegal or ctenopoma thats some stupid advice in my opinion. senegal still get around 20cm even the smaller ones. they get bigger. but 15cm tahts kinda big for a 80cm tank dont you think?Also Heard that the Leopard Bushfish gets around 6 inches Max that is like 15 centimeters.
Cant, read my other posts. This is the Max tank size I can afford as a student with the space I have. I refuse to send them to the LFS they were in a bad condition when I got them and with the help of medication and water changes they are well now. Majority of the people I asked said it was fine.d
def not. get bigger
I see you've decided not to go this route because of tank space. Thats a good decision. B
Welp sh*t. Went to the LFS and the employer said they would do fine in a 40B and my tank because of the footprint. It was an impulse buy too because he was being picked on and was in really bad shape I wanted to help it...
Tank isnt really overstocked I rehomed most of my remaining fish. I overfilter and there isnt much aggression. Would he be ok ? I can rehome him if he cant stay I just want to helal him up he was the weakest of the bunch and half dead.
Sigh ... Ok guess you have a point but cant I at the very least keep my Senegals ? They have been a dream fish of mine for such a long time and I did hear from people that those can be kept in my tank if I do the cleaning right... I can rehome the Bushfish or swap it for something else at the LFS maybe.I dont think so. U literally got 1 member saying that its fine, and two sayings it is not.
you bought it on impulse as you yourself said, so why now say that it was a decision you made after asking?
the tank is to small for long period both of those fish in my opinion. If you google :
senegal: 60″ x 24″ x 24″ (150x60x60cm) – 540 litres. (https://www.seriouslyfish.com/species/polypterus-senegalus-senegalus/)
ctenopoma : at least 120 ∗ 30 cm(https://www.seriouslyfish.com/species/ctenopoma-acutirostre/)
its good that your helping that fish but it isnt a great house for a long period. Try to look for a bigger tank or a better house if possible in the future.
Its great your saving a fish, but on the long period you are not helping those fishes in that tank atleast.
