Adjustment period? (new L264)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Nah its no ones fault. I was expecting the plecos to be closer to the size of the L264 (but are about half its size). Never realized a 2" pleco was so small haha.

I made a thread in the catfish section...I might end up removing the LSN but hoping not to ...

Traded the Lima to the LFS for frozen silversides :) Let that be a lesson to anything in my fish tank: Mess with the L-14, and I trade it for L-14 food ;)

On my lunch break today I saw the L-264 in a place I hadn't seen it before...the L-114's hideout! Which surprised me because it wasn't there this morning and it doesn't usually go anywhere when lights are on (even with lights out the L-264 goes from cave to cave pretty much). So I looked at the L-264s old cave and the L114 was there...I wonder who kicked who out? :D

Haven't really seen any aggression from the L-264 even though its at least twice as big as the new guys. Lately I've noticed the L-14 scavenging along the edges of the L-264s cave. I kept watching it to make sure the L-264 didn't beat it down, but didn't see anything.

I managed to get a picture of the L-264 nearby the L-14, i'll post the pic tonight when i get home so you can see the size differences.

The white spot on the body of the L-264 is actually on the glass..

The L14 likes the 'meat sandwich' :D Tonights flavor = freeze-dried earthworms, tetramin tropical flakes, and massivore delight. ;) First time I've caught them grazing off the zuchini.

I'm still not sure if the L114 wants in on the action, or is trying to get the L14 out of his territory (hes recently taken that rock cave on the right as his, and saw slight aggression recently toward the L14 when he scavenges too close (nothing too bad, he just scoots in its direction and the L14 usually backs up a couple inches and re-thinks its course of action ;) ).

As much as the L14 scavenges and as active as it is, I'd be surprised if it didn't outgrow the L114 within a couple months.

So the L-14 is still staying quite active? Coming out with the lights on? Technically speaking would'nt it be a veggie sandwich with a meaty middle?lol

Zuchinni.....the other white meat.lol

Oh yes the L-14 is very active. Its always scavenging somewhere, whether its the gravel / rocks / driftwood / glass. It's behavior doesn't really change when lights are on / off, its always scavenging :D and it poos like crazy so I know its eating well. Last night when it was chowing down on the 'sandwich' it had a string going twice as long as it was...haha. Sometimes it seems to ignore the pellets/etc I drop in for it and just scavenges around it. Sometimes it'll stop on a pellet for a few seconds or so and move on. I think its starting to get a taste for massivore though...

I think meat sandwich is appropriate :D I mean, you wouldn't call a ham sandwich a bread sandwhich with a hammy middle would you?
