well i got back into the stoarge and was able to dig some of the massive plethora of stuff jammed into the stand from when i bought it, here is some of what i found. this uv usable in salt water? and can i use the air pumps? what should i use the rio for?
Air pumps are bad for SW. The rio you can use to add current in the tank. The UV would be fine. Though if it was me i would sell it and put the money towards all the things your going to need.
that will depend on your fish. Current is always good, though i dont have a whole bunch on my tank.
its all up to you and what you can afford. SW fish dont really have solid poops , they kind of just break up . So you dont need to worry about placement , though it is always good to have no dead spots. just a little current going everywhere
Also I found that large pumps cost large money and use a lot of power. I prefer to run two smaller pumps that cost less to run in total and you don't have to worry as much if one burns out.
so im curious. what are peoples opinions on types of efficient and quiet pumps. also, on the return pump, is it smarter to have the water drop off from the return to the top of the tank or bottom? can it be used as partial current? also should i have current flowing bottom to top or side to side?
