if you cycle and add fish when its cycled and ok and wont kill them, then do your weekly or bi weekly water changes you water will stay in check and the hobby will finally feel rewarding to you. then on to bigger and better tanks
just take the time to read what people are suggesting, we obviously try to tell you ways to do things for a reason, your new and need guidance. just like i was years ago when i started working in a pet store. even now when i re-educated myself on puffers and marine tanks. its all one huge learning process. it may seem like a lot of reading and maintenance, but the people who care that you see around here do the work necessary to make this hobby rewarding, and are successful at it for a reason, they all started off and learned all the info they needed. at one point everyone here was a beginner and lost fish due to stubborn-ness of not listening to people when they thought their way would work, or just in-experience. i have had my tank set up with my GSP for about 13 months now. started with freshwater and acclimated over to marine. and have not lost a fish other than the one my snowflake ate and the two i sold so my big puffer had the spotlight of "the monster of the tank". when people are "telling you what to do" around here they are trying to suggest things to make this hobby better for you and help walk you through, if you were to listen it would make you more happy with the hobby and take you to the next level
