africans vs americans

im just gonna say for the record I love my jaguar , but currently took all the tanks down except for a 125 and a 55 , the jag is in 125 obviously , and have the tang biotope in the 55 which i love to sit and watch them all interact. I feel that SA's are openly aggresive so they usually bythemselves. Where as the africans are territory aggressive and have an agenda to the aggressiveness. allowing for more in the tank. for the record jag vs buttekoferi , its jags tank now.

I like texas cichlids (go native!) Central Longear Sunfish and Green Sunfish....definately fish from the Americas!
 
Americans you just can't beat their personalities.
 
americans need way more color for my liking, though i love green terrors and red devils :)

africans are super colorful, i love it!!!! but they all look the same, sort of, in a community tank

i think africans for the living room (where loads of ppl can see, and its super energetic tank), american for ur bedroom :) (where u can wake up next to a huge monster and feed it things)
 
Currently keeping a frontosa's tank and feels like you can't beat a American tank personality. They are big bad and always hungry for food.But, they need bigger tanks and u can add anything to the tank cos of there bulling nature.
on the other hand africans a little peaceful and colorful :)
 
love peacocks for colour. but overall american is the only way to go, i have all my severums and vieja hand feeding now, they have way more personality and they dont eat my colombian tetras!!

I've got a 120 with SA and a 55 with Malawi, IMO SA cichlids are more compatible. Like 'em equally though :)
