Africans you've mixed with CA/SA's successfully

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have a very mixed tank with absolutely no aggression... and they have been together for years so i do not expect any problems,... N. Venutus } who is about 10 inches keeps everyone in check..., 2 Black Belts, 1 female jaquar, 1 red devil, 1 oscar and 1 common pleco...

In my 125, I had a frontosa along with the other africans I mentioned in my earlier post, with my mostly new world cichlids, and last week I found the frontosa dead one night when I got home. So that is a mix I won't try again unless it is with geo or severums or other peaceful species. I've had no problems with most haps I've tried in that tank, with the exception of eye biters, but I think the 7" kiwinge has something to do with that

I've had butties and jewels together with my americans (different tanks though).

I currently keep:

Paratilapia polleni with Thorchthys sp. blue mixteco and EBJD
Steatocranus causarius with heros sp. rotkeil, exCichlasoma bocourti and Thorichthys maculipinnis
Pelviachromis subocellatus with bolivian rams and angelfish

the only african i have is the emperor, and they are currently on a growing competition with my pbass and albino plecos, they are all good coz none can swallow the others:grinno:

how is that working? I've been wanting to add buffaloheads to a 55 gal planted tank that already has a few small SA cichlids (Krobia itanyi, gymogeo balzani, festivum, and Geo. steindachneri) and was worried about aggression from the buffalohead
