I have a yellow lab that I culled from my breeding stock that is living happily with my recently turned vegan oscar.

i have a single fryeri living in a 150 with all american cichlids.. dempsey, rd, convicts, a fh.. they are all mature and do pretty good.

I've kept hemichromis, nimbochromis, pseudotropheus, & tilapia species with central americans at various times. I've mixed all types of central & americans with lake & riverine species & besides for the occasional killing by aggression that will come cichlid keepeing in general no problems. Captive bred species are facing the same water parameters nomatter the wild type local. these are the water variants the fish face regardless of just by being raised in your tank. The only problem would be trying to mix specimens that are wild caught as these are still used to water conditions of the wild.
