I have a male dovii and a buttikofferi that are the same length but the butt. is much thicker and bigger than the do vii, but he gets his tail handed to him.
I concur that aggression is used wrong a lot. Aggression is all attitude and nothing to do with the destruction that may be handed out. My biggest peeve is when people confuse predation with aggression.

I would have to strongly disagree.
As for fish, it varies from fish to fish species to species.
Lol 18 inch con would jump out of the tank and kick our assss for having him in a small tankAgree. None of my bigger fish even think about messing with my Festae. She never instigates, but never backs down either, and never gives an inch. My Midas could shred her to pieces based on size, but she's already won the non physical part of the confrontation. Attitude goes far....
Convicts are the same way. Thank god they don't get 16-18". Could you imagine?
I have had small fish take on much larger ones. Nothing about STAMINA, all about ATTITUDE. IF the fish thinks its BIG it will act it.
I agree with this statement. Guys I am not saying that other factors do not play a role but when the fish is just determine it is hard to beat. We are not talking about breeding pair but a single fish that is fighting for territory or breeding that has the stamina will win. I am not saying a 1 inch RD vs a 18 inch Dovii! I never made that argument. I stated two equal sized and equally aggressive.
Guys, I am talking about a particular trait of a fish not the type of fish. I used my RD as a example because that is what i have. I noticed that he/she just never gives up. That is will power and stamina.
I have not heard or seen a fight ready rott beat a fight ready pitt. The rott just doesn't have the gameness like the pit or Tosa Inu. As for the fish you are right each species is different.
And what will happen when the bigger fish decided enough is enough will the little guys attitude beat him or will the bigger, stronger, and much more powerful fish win?
I was comparing equal fish. Just stating what i saw and believe that stamina is the equalizer. Two fish match up the one who last the longest will win.
Thats not attitude but stamina
