is this a serious question? No, you cannot put any of those fish in a tank that size. A dempsey would work for a while, but will eventually need a bigger tank.

x2 . . . this is a terrible idea, period, for the reasons noted (although I think you could keep the dempsey, by himself)

you want to keep "aggressive" cichlids in a 50G, then try convicts, firemouths and salvinis; enjoy the small-scale chaos (if you must)

I think they would get along pretty decent but if you did that I would watch the devil and jag real good they can have a real meaness, but every fish is different, as to 50g tank does seem a little small but read my thread on (crazy stocking??). I have 125g with way more fish (large) in the tank that get along great with no probs.

Man...Im really trying to bite my tongue on this, but that might be about the worst advice Ive ever seen on MFK.

Unless those fish were to stay about 3 inches, that tank would NEVER WORK IN ANY SITUATION. PERIOD.

50 gallons is only big enough for a Jack Dempsey. To keep all the fish you want,a 180 gallon would probably be a good start.

I agree with this except for the JD part. JDs actually get pretty big eventually although a 50 gallon will be ok for a year maybe or so.

Seems like bait, but I'll bite. Recipe for heartache. 'nuff said.

It's hard for beginners to realize a 50 gallon is not large enough, when I first started I thought a 55 could hold anything lol. If you have the space some larger tanks are not much more expensive used than 55 gallons. but to the fish-Jag cichlids seem to hardly get along with anything, anyone want to switch this topic a bit and let me know what fish jag cichlids could live with, I think theyre sweet but could never keep them with my stock.
