Yet your a person who kept a 13" midas in a 30G? At the very least, this lady is asking for our help and advice. The best step you can take.

Get a 30 gallon with guppies, and don't forget to remove chloramine, chlorine, nitrite, nitrate, and ammonia on regular intervals. use a bio-wheel, and don't get new fish the second week your new fish all die. I did that when I was a begginer. I was really stupid, and I had 11 tropical fish in a 1 gallon tank without filtration and a heater. they did fine by living off their own pee water. Didn't change the water once. I regret doing that.
