how many of you MFK'ers use airpumps for your monster tanks?
if you do use em what brand are they?

i had a tetra tec deep water air pump, but the piece of **** stopped working properly and wasent very powerful, so ima look for a diff pump maybe a piston type air pump made by sweetwater. i hear those a very reliable and last a loooooooooooooooooooong time.

it could have bean the airstones that got clogged but unless you are usng an undergravel filer you don't need air pumps the bubbles don't really add any o2 to the tanrk only the movement of the water

I use a hiblow HP-40 with 10 outlets and the water goes into the tanks via 4 inch wide airstones and 3 feet air curtains.

i think air pumps are worthless and pointless if you already have a decent filter running in ur tank

I use about five "8500 Precision" and two "Atlas" pumps on my tanks. The discus tanks have no other filtering but the "monster" tanks do. 8500 are virtually soundless and work impecabally. Atlas aren't that great.
