White tank treatment?

Anger Management cichlids is Grade A in my book. I have gotten some F1 Rio Sarabia from him in the past. Easy to deal with, does what he says, includes extra to account for any DOA, he is in California. He has a bunch of Vidoes on YouTube. And regularly posts what is for sale on IG. He primarily just offers WC and F1 stuff.

I am a novice at fish keeping, but in the reptile hobby that sort of mutation might be called hyperxanthic, or xanthic, or even hypomelanistic...and/or hypoerythristic. It is almost impossible to say what is actually going on without some serious testing. It will be interesting to me to see if this plays out to be a simple recessive or some sort of more complex inheritance. It is possible only one of the parents carries the genetic mutation, if the heritability is co-dominant or incomplete dominant. There are other possibilities too. Really cool thread.

The IG fish looks like hypomelanism + hypoerythrism to me, for whatever the heck that’s worth. Subbed.

My official psychic foretelling (totally joking) is that it will turn out to be a single co-dominant mutation that causes hypoerythrism and hypomelanism.

You’re going to have to produce a few more Trimacs to find out!

And here's the fry...Most of them look like this with barring, and the telltale Trimac spots. MED_1971.jpg MED_1979.jpg
I have about a half dozen that look like this (on the left). No spots. No bars. or color.

I've raised literally thousands of Trimac fry over the past 40 years. Still not sure what I have here...but it sure does look different.
