Comparing him to the jag, my guy would be around the 14" mark now.
Here he is still holding his 2IC position in the tank and asserting his dominance over the midas.

Its tough to find good or bad bloodline festae. I suggest if you find ANY, scoop them up and im sure you wont be disappointed with their results.

I dont think there's a bad bloodline. I think Festaes will be festaes. Ugly fishes you see are from neglecting owners like the fish stores. But if you take them home and nourish them, they will take you to school for saying that. Different lines may have a bit of ta different look. Up to your taste. But Festaes will be festaes.. If a fish looks like it's from a bad bloodline and it dont look right, blame the owner for not knowing how to keep them..

Just the water and possibly the quality of foods.. Dont blame their bloodlines.

Not many big ones I see.

Greenterra takes the cake.

I skipped over a lot of this thread, I'm sure a lot of you have some beautiful fish. It's hard for me to look at these fish and not get even more bummed out about being misled on the fish I was intending to buy. Because of this incident, I no longer even seek these fish. Just going to stick with my current stock and tank. Again, to those that have these fish, enjoy them... probably one of the most beautiful fish kept.

Dude. U just need to know your fishes.. You want to be sure, just come here, look and ask questions. Cheer up. lol

One time I went to "notjustfish" on Valley blvd and bought some kind of blue spangled hybrid they labeled as umbees. They really looked like umbees!! Turned out they were just mutts of some sort when I posted them up in here. lol

I took it back and asked for refund. They knew they were scamming me so they better.

Problem is, I didn't realize it until well over a week after I'd bought these fish or they would have been returned. In my eyes Uro's are garbage compared to Festae. When I entered this store (mind you, this store is supposed to be one of the most highly rated stores in southeast Michigan) the guy I was with asked if they had any Festae. We were led to a tank with said fish and told they were indeed Festae. I was in there a little over a week later and noticed they had more. I made a comment that it was weird seeing Festae in a store. There was a different guy working that said they weren't Festae, they were Uro's. As I said, I wont be returning to that store to buy anything and I'm keeping my current stock. I know what I have and I'm happy with them. As for the Uro's, as soon as they're big enough to do something with, I'm ditching them. Hell, I barely take care of them compared to my other fish. I've even contemplated just feeding them to my Flowerhorn. Understand, I've had a couple bad experiences buying fish from supposed reputable stores around here and it's soured me on buying fish period and almost caused me to give up the hobby. But I've decided to keep what I have and not add to it. If anything, I'll unload some of my stock at some point.
