Tried to get them all in one shot all begging for food as usual
1362250

This guy has improved coloration and rash from last update, these guys have absolutely been very stubborn with pellet training so the have only had meaty foods tilapia, shrimp, and bay scallops. I will start implementing vitachem or some sort of vitamin soak for the food given to these Kels

Wooow. Who’s the buddy guy on the far right of the fts? Great markings and showing off the Mohawk. Great photos

I don’t understand why mine are all brownish rather than this beautiful green. Is that what happens later on oristhis because of a certain collection point? Or are mine just cheap carnies lol.

Matteus Matteus The bass on the right is a WC Intermedia very dominant fish but has calmed down a bit.

Give your bass some time they will turn the corner soon enough.

I have had a request to post my filtration set up so I figured if anyone else was interested here it is. Sorry for long post. Matteus Matteus

This setup is more function it’s not pretty and a lot of it is diy. I will start with my 180 gallon setup I run a 75 gallon diy sump 2 baffles (I used Joey’s design) left baffle has a bunch of small holes drilled and the bottom section of baffle approximately 5 rows around 5” or so, it contains a 7” by 36” filter sock 100micron and Bakki shower media with a air stone underneath to prevent detritus from collecting in the media it’s not designed for under water but it’s very porous and I had it laying around so I used it. Center of sump is K1 reactor (knock off) right baffles has holes drilled in the center of baffle same as above for drilled holes. Right section has a marine pure block and some regular ceramic media 800watt titanium heater and a dcp 5000 pump. Pic was taken during water change this morning.

Here is the ultima 2 with the reeflo hybrid pump close to 2k gph I forget what it was rated for and head loss etc.

This were I drilled holes in wall for 1.5” plumbing for ultima 2

Matteus Matteus

For the 600 gallon I run a 110 gallon Rubbermaid stock tank with 3x 7x36” filter socks a ton of ceramic media 2x marine pure blocks, 2x 12000lph or15000lph can’t remember pumps through 2x nuclear canister filters with extension converted to k3 reactors. 21” pool sand filter stuffed with ultima 2 media (approximately 3/4 full) with a wlim pump 3k gph modified the multiport valve so ultima does not escape lastly a Rubbermaid trash can with K1 media (knock off) with a 900gph mag drive pump that goes through a UV sterizer then to reactor.

Sump pic the five gallon Home Depot bucket is full of media two of the returns dump in to it I drilled a bunch of holes all the way around it so water would flow through the media. I am thinking of modifiying left section of sump detritus forms here I just vacuum out on a regular basis have not decided on which direction I want to go yet.

Here are the NuClear canisters converted to k3 reactors (Knockoff).

Pool sand filter stuffed with ultima 2 media with modified multiport valve. (Poor mans Ultima)

And lastly the Rubbermaid trash can K1 reactor
