I think it is true if you have pool/pond and some trespasses and drowns you could be held liable unless proper fencing was set up
Homeowner Swimming Pool Liability
by FreeAdvice staff

Backyard swimming pools, while fun, provide serious swimming pool liability. The homeowner can be held responsible for any injuries or deaths that take place in or around the pool, even if the victims were trespassing, scaled a fence to access it, or otherwise used it without the homeowner's permission. If you or your child has been injured in a neighbor's pool, they homeowner faces liability for the harm you or the child suffered. An personal injury attorney with experience in pool accident liability cases should be consulted before taking any legal or insurance related action.

What qualitifes an "Act of God"? Tornado rips through town and your roof panel kills someone and they can prove it's yours, should you be sued for it?

I think it's horrible that an owner can be held liable if someone drowns or is iinjured after climbing fences and tresspassing in order to gain access to a swimming pool.

factoid for you, if your neighbors tree falls on your house during a wind storm, they are not liable, so no.

and what if there were Moquitoes transmitting malaria and no warning sign? DOES that mean Disney should be held liable?

Disney owns the lagoon not the air.... cant compare the two

my wife makes the point that because its Disney, her assumption would be that there safety is secured from gators, and not something she needs to worry about really. And I can see her point.

Exactly what ive been saying. Call it wrong to assume your safe.

But is anyone seeig where having an event to watch movies on a beach where gstor may be.... just stupid and recklesd...

Frank you hold an event on your property you are responsible for the well being of your guests...no way around it

I don't know why everyone is so quick to ignore the fact that they broke the rules and going to be rewarded for it. A child died because they broke the rules. Bottom line

Rewarded ? Their child was killed. No amount of money is fixing that
