OK, was finally able to upload some pics really quick. Good news is that I woke up this morning and they seem to be going well. They just swim around in parallel and even lay on the bottom together. My girl says "they love each other".
yeah, the pics just reiterate (and confirm) how ridiculous of an idea this was, and how it is destined to be bad for the LNG. with all the gar info we've picked up from various discussions, i'm really surprised (sort of) that this is happening--

I literally shivered when I saw that picture. I had no idea how large your gator was until I saw the comparison. That longnose is going to become a shortnose one of these days.
So far so good, they really seem like they like each other. I went in to turn on the light this morning and they were laying side-by-side on the bottom
Wish I could have taken a pic but I had just woke up and I don't do so well in the mornings.
Little update on a lesson learned tonight, keep seperate when feeding just the Gator Gar.
Luckily it wasn't a very serious bite, more of just a nip.
My girl is cooking Halibut tonight so I cut off a little strip for the Gator Gar. I threw it in the tank and he snatched it up quickly, but since it was a bigger piece and still had the skin on it he was chomping on it as he drew it down his throat. While he was swallowing it there was a LITTLE TINY piece kinda hanging out of the side of his mouth. The Longnose went up to take a sniff at it and the Gator Gar gave him a little snap to let him know not to to do that. Since that they are cool again and are chillin on the bottom hanging out together. But next time I will put in the dividing board or feed the LNG a shrimp to something to keep him preoccupied.
