Being married, I know that it is important to have time alone sometimes. It's not selfish, it's normal, and healthy. You two can go together whenever you want, and you should be able to go alone whenever you want as well, imo. Have fun!

IF your SO is cool with you going yourself and again later with them, that is what I would do. If she isn't, is it really worth starting a fight over?

I would wait and go with her. Then you can go by yourself as much as you want later. I would do this because:

With her wanting to go with you she is supporting your hobby.

She also wants to see your amazement of seeing this for the 1st time and taking that away from her will make her disappointed (I speak from experience), and make her dislike the word aquarium.

Once you have gone with her you can always go back alone and see things more thorough.

Keeping the lady happy always makes the hobby easier on us..........

I wouldn't say wanting to go alone is selfish, because I def enjoy things like that more when my mind has space to wonder, i.e. alone.

I also think you should respect that she's willing to be into with you. Maybe save the first time for her and then go alone.

Or you could go alone so you could "know your way around and have more fun when you went with her"
