Am I the only one who gets mad?

i love snakes, my first ever one was a calorina corn snake and the first one i ever held was a royal/ball python and i have a cat, i didn't treat them any different both got the love and care needed (cat still llives though 
). but i did have to sell my snake in the end because my mums friends said it was discusting and said that all snakes are venemous and can kill children up to 12 years old by 'strangling' them (bull s**t). my mum didnt believe them but still made me get rid of it, she used to be called caroline (i was 12 and i thought it would be cool- female carolina corn)

Long time owner of creepy crawlies and fish. What I can't believe is how many people can't deal with seeing rope fish or My G. tile, let alone spiny eels. If they are in motion snakaphobes at my place freak out. Then I tell them the large bulg under the newspaper in that terrarium behind them is a Big ole columbian, they have panik attacks. Always good for a laugh.
But really some people are irrational. I don't know many vegans who are rational though, vegetarian is cool but veganism most of the legit actual practicing full on(No Honey!!!) vegans I new where sick looking. As such, I could debate the talents withs of such a individual with the butter gargelling meat eaters on here ^_^
But realistically alot of people choose to be ignorant, they watch fox news and resent most of the natural world. And the enemy, above all else, is a differing opinion!
I don't think in any situation that they site is a animal the culprit, it is 100 percent bad owners. Snakes in florida, the snakes didn't put themselves there. Dogs at the pound, again not their choice. The only thing I resent more than a ignorant woman like the one you encountered is the individuals who give her amunition. The dog fighters ruining pitbulls, The snakehead owners who dump em in the river system, The petstore owner who pushes a animal out the door for profit with no regard for their life expectancy or quality of life, the list is long and reflects on all us in the hobby. I as much as I would enjoy rubbing that womans face in the dirty newspaper lining the bottoms of my snake cages, I would really like to see a top to bottom change in the way the majority of people care for their animals. Us enthusiasts on this site are the exception we got it right. How can we positively change the larger issue.

Her excuse was that "some people just don't like snakes, get over it". I'm not going to get over it when someone is saying that my snake should have its head chopped off and eaten. I also find it ironic that she is a vegan but she wants me to eat a snake. Also her excuse for that particular sentence was "People in all different cultures eat snakes." I just love it when those who preach about tolerance and then say things like what she did. I could care less is someone doesn't like my snakes. About 5 people in my family choose not to come to my house because of the snakes.
