I have people question me about not having kids occasionally, but my wife gets it all the time... I am an elementary school teacher, I love kids, but I have chosen not to have them.

By the way, Rallysman, if you want a vasectomy it is your right to get it. If your doctor won't do it, get a new doctor!

Is there anyone else with the "balls" to step up and say "I DON'T WANT KIDS!"?

I'm tired of people telling me "You'll change your mind" or "I felt the same way" or "It's different if it's your own"

Bottom line: I don't want kids. I never have wanted kids. I'm old enough to know that I don't want a damn thing to do with them.
If you want to have children, then that's fine. I admire your drive. I want nothing to do with them. Leave me out of it.

This is not a thread for current or future parents to tell me what I'm missing, or how much they love, or how life isn't complete blah blah blah.
I'm just curious if I'm the only one that's tired of being second guessed.

Nah.. I do have kids but I'd never push having kids on anyone. Kids just aren't for some people. No biggie as there are others doing more then their share to populate the world.

I have kids and would never think of telling friends that have chosen not to have any that they should.My kids are great and I get compliments all the time on how good they are and "how do you do it?"Simple it was a conscious choice made by an over 30 adult.I think people under 30 shouldn't even think about having kids,youre not grown up enough.Think I'm wrong, check the divorce rates.Sure some are but they are in the minority.And just because you hit that age doesn't mean its time.You have to want it and be willing to put the time and effort in to do it right.Not everyone is cut out to be a parent.
You are 100% right Rallysman if you feel its not the right choice for you,dont do it!
