I understand what he's saying. Pushing the natural limits of fish is inherent in our hobby. I don't think he's killing fish for pleasure just experimenting. People do that all the time on here.
I think what he's doing is a little foolish but no worse than all the popular overstocked tanks you see on here. I understand what he's thinking. I wouldn't push that hard on the thermal envelopes. I would waste life/money like that but I don't hate on him. Plenty of worse fish keepers on here. You guys are leveling some serious accusations at him.
In my accidental experience a roommate turned off our house heat during break back when I was living at school. Over the week our house dropped below freezing with my african 110 tank dropping below 60 degrees Fahrenheit. No one died. That being said they would have died in short order if my other roommate hadn't turned the house heat back on prior to my return.
