oh man guys..that's why i'm asking for help to avoid him suffering and dying..he's better of with me than in that overcrowded tank i bought him from..and btw, he only cost 350php here($8)..the test kit here (API) costs 900php($20)..and also i don't know if its asian or south american..why do you ask man??does caring for each one differ??

I didn't mean you couldn't afford buying the fish, I meant if you can't buy the test kit, how are you going to buy the tank big enough by june to keep him in. After that you will have to start looking for the next area to move him to buy next June. You will also need heaters filters and food for this enormous fish. I personally can't keep that fish and have a more equipment and space than everybody I know personally (not the people on this forum, but my local friends).

There is nothing wrong with keeping a 55 gallon and your 15 gallon going. You just can't house a rtc for more than a short time. Limit your fish size and number to your current tanks.

Please sell him or give him away or something. This fish will get to be 3ft and greater! You will not be able to keep it if you can not afford $20 for a water test kit. I'm not saying that to be mean just stating the facts. These guys get huge fast! If you really are trying to help him than the best thing would be to try to find him an suitable home with someone who is capable of taking care of one of these giants.

The fish does not care if you're trying. In fact, he doesn't even have a concept of "trying." He just knows that he feels like crap and he's miserable and he's dying. Take him back -- give him a chance.

if you cant afford a $20 test kit, how will you afford a $2000 tank or pond? sorry, but these fish are a huge commitment and is not really any better off in your tank

2 simple words..................................... GET RID!!!

even with a test kit he is still gona die, even in that small tank u could prob only house 4 neon tetras!!!! Either clove him to put him out of his misery or sell him to some1 with a huge pond, atleast if he does die in the pond he went well and in alot more space than he has now. Sorry m8 but you dont really have any other choice, from what your saying you really cant afford to keep this fish, and by fish law you should never have bought him in the 1st place :D

There is a big difference between these two cats, the Asian does not grow as fast or big as the South American and they look nothing alike. The South American has a white underbelly and it's cuteness as a baby is what gets so many of them sold to unsuitable customers. Some of the members who have commented here have the S.A.Redtail in their avatar picture.Does your cat resemble these?

i agree with most of whats stated, you did mean good trying to get him out of a crammed tank at the store but you did wrong in putting it in a 15 gallon whoch you sadly cant not afford to keep, sell him, or give him away to someone with proper housing.
