i agree with most of whats stated, you did mean good trying to get him out of a crammed tank at the store but you did wrong in putting it in a 15 gallon whoch you sadly cant not afford to keep, sell him, or give him away to someone with proper housing.
Maybe you can find someone who has pond on their property who woud be willing to take it in.

aww..but he has started eating again and has become more active at night..what if i say i'll buy a 125 gal. this month..then next year i''ll upgrade to whatever you guys say..my dad didn't buy the test kit cause he thought the fish is doing great..i am changing 25% of the water twice a week..i will graduate from nursing at about x-mas next year so i will have money to support this fish..why do you say he is dying??how much time do you expect before he dies??what if after that he is still alive?

They grow extremly quick and wont survive long in a 15g, i think thats the main pointer here and also why he isnt the way he prob should be. I think even if you could get a huge plastic tub from some where and put him in that as a temp housing untill you can get your 125g, then he should be fine in there and you will see a huge diff in his behaviour ;) keep us updated, have you got any pics??

hmmm ... even 125 is not going to last very long. Also, RTC is big and eats alot. and i mean alot. Is your dad aware how big these guys get?

keep him for fun for a short while but do have a back up plan ultimately. Think really really big or be ready to give this fella away

good luck

Cute when small... Just be ready for the upgrade real soon

erm ok, 1st of all, that is not a 15g tank lol it looks more like a 55g so you prob safe for a couple more month. 2nd you prob only need to do a 20-25% water change 1nce per week, the water looks sweet to me. 3rd you should prob try feeding 1nce every 2 days or very small amounts every day. for his size there seems to be alot of room for him so really why were you worrying again??

RTC'S tend to hide alot when small anyway so yeah he will come out of his shell eventually, just bare with him and be consistant in what your doing and he should be fine dude ;) nice lil monster ;) Just remember to be prepared in a couple of months by getting a much larger tank for him :D
