I would imagine it would be easy enough to tell a 15 yr old probably wouldnt have the experience needed to keep such an animal. It is an animal that should be sold by the knowledgeable/experienced, to the knowledgeable/experienced.

why the hell are chain petstores allowed to carry these animals. 99.9% of the people buying them are NOT qualified to keep them. IMO, there are 7 herps that people should be required to have a permit to own: boa constrictors, iguanas, burmese pythons, reticulated pythons, andacondas, all monitors(except perhaps ackies) and all tegus. i've heard way too many horror stories about people buying these animals to have any faith in prospective keepers that don't have lots of experience. i've been keeping mainly native herps for over 12yrs now and still don't have enough experience to try one of these(except perhaps for an iggy) but that's mainly because i've never worked with a snake larger than 6'(relocated a really pissed 5'6" golpher snake once)davo;649997; said:Why shouldnt people be allowed to keep them again?
