Anaerobic Bacteria

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Diameter. I'd use an intake prefilter of sorts.

Probiotics are aerobic so use oxygen when they complete their activities.

I plan on doing a coil at some point lol. Will see how it works

Seems there are 2 distinct directions on this thread:
1- The carbon dosing guys
2- Me trying to figure out the coils lol
Your coil would benefit from the dosing just as much as their towers. They work the same way, the only difference shape.

There still needs to be:

3- The sulfur denitrator guys
4- The biopellet nitrate reactor guys
5- The freshwater foam fractionater guys

They use a drip, the way I think of goes with high flow unless I missed something

Lol than we need swirl filter guys, Waldstadt refugium guys, mushroom filtration guys, and of course the aquaponics and algae filtration that are just so much simpler than everything else.

Yes, but you are both relying on the same bacteria that need carbon.

Of course just as the areobic bb found in our media and all over the tank but im not sure it would deplete 02 levels as needed interms of creating an environment suitable for anaerobic bb. Been dosing for a a couple of years and have never seen a reduction in nitrates because of it...to add

I think its a good place to start bro comparing your stock to how effective the coil method can be

In all seriousness i WANT my skepticism proven wrong lol

In theory but these methods imo are all very tank specific and not backed up by many facts just like the guy in that vid...i would call his success a failure lol

Dont mean to sound like a debbie downer but out of all the crap we did on the other thread i posted earlier didnt actually work when put to a real world test.
That thread started out as an algae scrubber discussion and morphed into all sorts of stuff

Maybe between all of we can come up with something new?

I like this.

Man it almost sucks the very day i start this thread the fulter looks like it might be doing somerhing. I was already to start building a purigen filter now i have a crap load of the stuff sitting around lol

We should bring kno4te kno4te into this discussion as hes the only one im aware of that saw results within the 1st few weeks.

Lol we looked at the biopellets stuff together hahah to me thats way to much work...i think theres a level of risk with that too referring to the bi-product...thoughts ?

Algae filtrarion is no way simple man. Just ask markstrimaran markstrimaran achievable yes but not simple another one that i think becomes problematic when dealing with high bioloads/big freakin fish lol
