you can only tell with their breeding tube down.. the male breeding tube is pointy.. and the females is larger... otherwise male and females look exactly alike.. what you do is get a few angels and then notice who is pairing off.. you can remove them to a safe smaller breeding tank.. preferably with water from the main tank.. add a slate for them to lay the eggs on.. once the eggs are there.. you can see if the parents will raise them {most do not} or .. you can remove parents and leave slate with eggs and let the babies hatch and wiggle and be raised right where they are.Cakilla;3600013; said:
I have 2 angel fish now I was thinking they was a pair but they haven't ever laid eggs I was mainly thinking they was male and female cause for some reason unknown to me why the one I was thinking was male has a nob forming on its forhead and the other does not , they are the same age same size I will have to wait it out and see got them in a 100 gallon indoor pond now with slate rocks in it made some caves wiht it and its planted so we will see
