Anhtu402's First Wood Work

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Finally got it up on the stand. Now need to do the canopy. I'm getting tired. Sigh. But the outcome has lifted my spirit and cannot wait till it's 100% complete.

Excellent work.

It came out nicely.

Very Nice

The one part of my builds I am not looking forward to is the staining. I suck at it, and will be practicing alot before I start.

Yeah i thought it was bad, not but really when you see that it can be really good. The only thing I would recommend is a lot of ventilation. i live in northern US, so it's really cold outside, which is why i did all the staining and glossing inside my basement. Good luck with yours! Just take you time!

I am getting a big headache over my sump. So I have everything set up for my sump, but it's not as easy as I thought it would be. The pump is rated at 850 gph, I have 1 1/4 inch PVC DIY Overflow, everything is working fine EXCEPT: if I were to let the pump run full blast it will suck most of the water from the last compartment, and may run dry. If I were to restrict the pump, the sump seems to build up a lot of water and may overflow. I have been trying to find that perfect equilibrium, but for some reason, I cannot. How do you guys do it?

I have not yet set up a sump, but as I have read the best is to insert a return line after the pump returning to the sump using a ball valve. This you can regulate to get the perfect flow without going dry/or overflowing the sump.

Will see if I can find a pic for you.

So finally got done with the first phase of my canopy build and am testing out with my Remote control Christmas light LED that are Blue/White (has two colors, that change with a remote control). I am still waiting for my overflow and new pump so I can finish the tank, as well as need to stain the wood covering the canopy and put it all together.

The two last pictures are of the one with white setting and blue setting. What do you think?

Those xmas lights light up that tank surprisingly well. Looks good.
