I just wanted to vent a little... recently it seems like craigslist posts have been ridiculous. Not just some of em, but all of em.

Granted all the tanks being offered include a stand, but 180g tanks are going for over 1000, 125 gal tanks are going for 400 or more, 55 gallon tanks are 200 or more, and anything smaller is at least 50 bucks even 10 gallons. WTF? :screwy:

I really need to find a 180gal for a good price. I'm getting highly annoyed.

I hear ya! I picked up a 125 last week for $250 w/stand, but it was literally weeks of looking at super-inflated pricing similar to what your talking about. In my area there are people asking like $500 for a 55 gal!!! Laughable (and they just keep re-listing it at the same ridiculous price and wonder why there are no bites?!). You just have to wait until a rational person who really needs the money lists their tank and jump on it...

400 for a 125 gallon would be amazing where I live.
People ask 400-600 for a 55 gallon setup.

Pet stores around here want over 200 for JUST a 40 Gallon breeder tank (JUST THE TANK).

I think I need to come down to the states and pick up some tanks haha
 
I picked up a 90gal with wood stand, two emperor 400 filters, python vacuam, Prime, gravel...basically everything. Just didn't have the glass tops for $150. It had been on CL for awhile, so I called and made an offer and they took it. It is not much better down here. People will say they have a huge tank for sale and it is 30gal for $200.

But this is the norm for my area. kinda sad
 
You just gotta be patient. I bought a 55gallon with cover, ligthts and stand for 75. The seals were very thin, but all I had to do was re-seal. Good luck
 
CL is hit and miss, but if you are patient you will find what you are looking for. I found my 210g after pretty much giving up on ever getting a bigger tank with about a year of searching. Then a guy was selling a new one with stand and glass tops that had never been set up. I got the set up for $500 and it still had all the pet store stickers on it. The guy had paid around $1400 for it all. So I was very happy with the purchase!
