yeah who cares if he rips people off as long as he can get really nice rays......its this is the thinking that has kept sellers like shawn in business.......good job.

Any joe can bring nice rays in.just contact exporters yourself and not pay for the middle .you have a way better chance at success

shawn does business on another forum that i have contacted him on before.
this bad rep he seems to have here seems to derive from prepay/preorder stuff. you guys that got screwed over ever thought he got screwed over from the source? that is a huge possibility. even this current scam that is listed could be just he got it in as that, paid the high price and got that diff ray. yes he is a vender, but how many venders on here have things mislabeled? i know of more then a few.
now i have never dealt with him other then a few pms so i can not defend nor judge him. just like any local shop, until i try it and see how it goes i will not hold anything against him. i may not spend alot of money on a trial, but i will try him out, then make my judgment about him with an experience to back it. i never prepay/preorder things from anyone. to much risk because there is more then one person incharge of the process and at anytime one of the others could take the money and bail. just my thoughts from what i keep seeing.

Just because a vendor gets screwed over by his supplier, doesn't justify him trying to "pass" it on to another person. He deals with the supplier. If he's importing lots of rays, I'm sure the suppliers wouldn't want to lose him as a customer.
Even when it was pointed out the ray is mid-identified, he doesn't correct the listing but still tries to sell it to an unsuspecting person.
first, how do you know it was pointed out to him? did you point it out?
second, how would you know if he got the message that it wasn't what it was and just took it as someone trying to scam him? i know if i got something that i was selling and someone told me it was a cheaper thing i would not just say "oh, your right....i'll just change that and....here your go, 1/3 of the price." most people would try that just to get a "great deal" on a fish.
i wasn't saying that it is justified to pass it on. what i said was he may have not known at first. yes it is shady if he was informed about it and didn't change it, but how often does your lfs change things or other vendors after the id is fixed, not often. i am not defending him persay, but more or less putting him in with other venders/lfs that cant afford to take a hit.
