Not that I really care, but I think that getting out of the hobby because you have lost fish is childish. We all lose fish.

Do not sell your fish. You are a grown man, things happen in life. Tomorrow is another day.

Things in my life are not real rosey right now, but I am not going to sell my fish and kill myself.

In all seriousness if your are a TRUE hobbiest, bury your fish and move on. You seem to enjoy your fish, it would be a missing part of your life.

See how you feel in a few days, do not post your fish for sale.........patience and calm.

Let me write out $10k in long form, for the sake of visual impact . . . $10,000.00!!!! That's a lot of zeros and a lot of money. You need to take a few days to recover emotionally. My piece of advice is to cut back on your spending. That way your losses won't be so devistating. I like my silver arowana. If he were to bite the bullet today, I'd be out of an initial investment of only $60 and I guess I could add in additional money for overhead, which includes the maintenance of the fish. I would be upset about a $60 loss. I can only imagine how much you are paying for your fish, but maybe that's the problem. Cut back on your cost. Maybe that will make your losses more tolerable.

So sorry man. I wish you the best of luck!

sorry for ur loss..

Seeing any arowana dead from jumping always sucks.. not to mention a 22" Blk..

I would treasure this moment and learn from your mistake. You seem to have quite a lot of tanks.. i think cutting down to a few big ones ought to be enough rather than just calling it quits..

Learn from others....... thats what this forum is for.. to share with people your experience and learn.. I'm not gonna give u the whole.. "its a teachable moment crap" But really... you live and learn each day..

I've lost fish.. quite some expensive ones too.. at least 3 african arowana, 2 jardini, 1 gar and 4 diff EBJDs.. probably about $250-$300 lost.. but u learn to control and to fin out stocks so u dont go overboard..

Best of luck!

Ive been in a similar situation recently my friend, ive had to go into hospital again and have some surgery, and whilst i was away i lost my Mbu puffer and one of my fave panaques and to make life easier as im busy these days with college ive sold off many fish and tanks and am going to just stick with one tank to make it easier for me and have them as my true pet fish.

Good luck and hang in there

I'm going to try and make this short and to the point.

First off i'll never be out of the hobby all the way. My salt water stays regardless. And i'll be keeping my Fly River Turtle for life. ;)

As to the amount of money i've spent/spend? I have that problem if i do something i'm ALL or nothing. And i'm man enough to admit that's not allway's the best way to do thing's. I just allway's am pushing to the next level. I have loved this hobby since i was a child! All i can remember growing up is being in my dad's fish store. And breeder's ect.. It's a big part of my life period.

As to me losing this to a mistake. Meaning water or bad keeping habit's? Sorry not the case. I've kept enough Aro's for all of us. The only mistake that was made is these fish are wild. And far to powerfull to control.(without alot of LUCK)

Thanks to all the guy's that back me. And got my back aginst basher's who know nothing about me.

To the Basher's: I just don't have the time. Sorry

I was not BASHING you sir, I simply said that you apparently like fish, why get out because you lost a fish? I do not coddle people like most here I give good stern advice. If you wrecked your car, do you sell it and start walking? If your house burns partially, do you sell the rest and live in the woods? No, you keep going, that is life.

I know you lost a goliath and black arrow, how do you value those or what else have you lost. 10,000 is a lot of money. Just curious.
