another Tenecor let down

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
You guys definitely need to get $ back for that or get another replacement tank from them.

I used to work customer service, and being rude will not do a thing from you. Be very nice to customer service, and it'll get you a long way. But definitely let them know exactly what you expect to happen (cash back or a replacement tank, and shipping is on THEIR dime because this is not your fault). But again.....be nice to customer service about the situation.

But you DO need to go to whatever measures necessary to either get your money back or to get a replacement tank. It is absolutely bogus that Tenecore would send you a tank that looks like that when you are paying a few grand for a tank. That is a LOT of money. And to those saying that it'll be covered by substrate anyway.....That's not the point. It's shoddy craftsmanship, and shouldn't be that way. And what if he wanted to do a bare bottom tank?

If Tenecore refuses, your options are as follows:
-File with your credit card company to get your money back because you did not get what you paid for.
Look up NOW what the timeframe is for this. I think usually you have to file within a month or so.
-Check your local law. In some states, BY LAW, a company has to accept returns within a certain timeframe.
-File a suit against Tenecore (it's really not that hard to do, and with the pictures you have, you'll get your money back for sure).
-File with the Better Business Bureau.

Dang! :swear:

They treated you guys as 3rd world country citizen!!! :irked:

I know right! how's the coffe bro?

will check into that thanks!

I do agree it looks bad and shouldn't have been sent that way. I just thought maybe it wouldn't be so bad if he could cover it with substrate. I would say if he was planning to do a bare bottom tank apparently he wouldn't care how bad a tank looked, so I don't know if he would even notice that as a problem.

Damn I write them a letter, email them and try to call them that way you can say you've tried three different ways to get a hold of them and if they dont respond then I would dispute the charge on your card...

Some things to remember in this: Tenecor won't just come and pick up the tank. Tenecor may accept it back on a warranty, but the shipping will be on the purchaser's dime. That is why it is important to verify things beforehand. It is one of the reasons that I went with Midwest Custom instead of Tenecor. Tenecor outs out a lot of great tanks, but if 15% are bad (like this one), would you want to take the chance with your $2500 that you would be part of that 15%? I believe the % of bad tanks is >15%, but I was using it as an example. Tenecor has gone down hill a long way.

x2.
Thanks for the heads up!

That is an insanely (probably not a word) nice tank set-up with all the electronics. I love the lighting. Are you for hire. :)

Gonna be tough to not include your own wallet now that the tank is off the truck. I've sent stuff back before. Just hop right into the truck and look it over with a flashlight.

As it is now, your friend isn't going to hear what he wants when talking to them.

It's not like he's debating a scratch here. It's a clear manufacturing defect.....On a fish tank that cost over $2 thousand dollars.

I'd take them to court if I had to if I were you. It's a clear cut case.
