ok, thanks! what do I need, like a clothe or a towel or what?

get an algae magnet from walmart for like 5 bucks. they work well. and i dont recommend starting with a puffer. work your way up to one. they're really hard to keep and ive gone through my share before i learned.

thing is, I only got 2 bucks. but my mom will pay me about 20 by december. Thanks!

Don't spend your money on a glass magnet then. Just use your hand and rub down the inside of the glass when you do water changes, that's what I do. And it's free :-)

I'm not sure if they "need" it but mine munches on his 24/7 so I know they sure enjoy it. He hides so well in the crevices I can't tell him from the wood, he's the same color as the wood.

I was gonna say the same as terminal MTS said except he called it a rubberlipped around here they call them rubbernose pleco I think someone else called it a bulldog, but thats my sons favorite pleco out of my 3. I guess we are talking about the same one. They say max size is 5 in. but had mine for about a year and havn't noticed much in size yet he's only about 2 1/2.

Do bristlenose plecos need wood in their diet?
I don't think so but they do love to use driftwoods as refuge. I don't remember my Ancistrus ever munch on woods though.

An old credit or bank card works well.

Do they need something to chew on though? Are they destructive? I been thinking about getting one, but I worry they may chew onto things I dont want them to.
