I'd like to add my 2 cents. To be honest, I dont get these cops. I get that they have to fill a quota, but sometimes it just seems theyre out for blood. I once heard a wise man say," why must they hand out chicken "s" tickets like this when they make the newer cars so comfortable. If you sit in a newer car and do 85, it seems like 60". And "most" of the traffic IS GOING 75-80mph! As far as the cops go, if you shave your head, or look a certain way, your getting pulled over. I got pulled over for "modified" exhaust and it was in my grandmother's car! Maybe its cause I dont grow facial hair on my cheeks...so my beard makes me look AL QAEDA.

they deffinatly discriminate, and look for certain groups of people.
that can be certain, but i doubt i can claim i didn't know how fast i was going in a tahoe zipping by everypne else. lol

Get a radar detector. I got caught doin 145 in a 100 zone (kph)

The Volvo topped out at 240

Of course I never went that fast

Be careful with radar detectors. The radar gun vs. radar detector arms race seems to move pretty fast. They seem to come out with new detectors that detect more bands at least every year. I took my radar detector out for a test run and got my first and only speeding ticket (I didn't even know I was speeding till the lights came on in the shadows and I checked the speedometer). Since, I've managed to make it 2 years without getting another, but I'm terrible about speeding on open roads with light traffic...

I just recently got two speeding tickets in the same week!! Each ticket was doing 85+ in a 65. Before this I have never done anything wrong, no tickets no accidents and I am 18. So these are my first offences so to speak. So I was wondering is there anyway in hell i can get to go to traffic school for both of these and get them off my record? I already know after this I am taking the bus everywhere because I would never want to speed again, so any advice as to what I can do in these situations?
I already know I'm an idiot for speeding, sheesh 85+ and a 90 in a 65 within the same week!

grr just seem so mad, they didn't even give me a little simpathy as they both mentioned my grandfather as an officer, just straight up gave me the ticket.

you can do traffic school and then community service if you dont have enough money to pay the tickets bro. for future advice try to pull the i am going to be a firefighter trick. ill explain more if you dont understand

Are you more worried about the money of the tickets, or just having them on your record? If it is about the record then you can get ticket wiped off your record, it is just expensive. Now I don't know how the laws differ where you're at, but in Indiana you can have your first ticket taken off. You just have to go down to the county clerks office with the ticket and ask to have it defered (can remember the exact word) but anyway, they will then ask you a few questions, you have to sign a few things, and then cough up the money. (Mine was roughly double the ticket). I would try that if you guys have that option I would try that and then take the other to court. Oh by the way, if you get caught speeding within a year after getting the ticket wiped, it gets put back on your record and you have to pay the original amount for the ticket. Hopefully this helps

I had a 1995 850 Turbo, Got it to 240 once, videod me goin to 220, The 1995 850 T5-R is even faster. What the manufacturer says at a top speed is an understatement

The 850 T5-R is the greatest Volvo ever IMO. Sooo bad ass, just wish it came in stick
