Nice to se emore mountain bikers! I broke my Cannondale, so now I'm riding a 1997 Schwinn Homegrown hardtail. Great frame, but I'm saving up for a Salsa Moto Rapido Frame. I'd also like a fixed gear single some day. I also have a Salsa Campeon road bike. I race a few events a year, and I've done 1 adventure race. I'd really like to do more. They're awesome! North Carolina has some awesome trails! I work part-time as a wrench at the local bike shop so I get the hook-up! :o)

I like the attitide frames, too, but I never was a fan of the drop-outs on the older models. Have the drops changed? I haven't kept up much. Our shop has Giant, Jamis, Quintana Roo, Javelin and Cervelo. Internal cable routing's nice, huh?

Reminds me of my brother's former early 1990s Klein Rascal w/ the flourescent orange/purple glitter paint job and matching painted Mission Control stem/bar combo. Good times! :D

I don't race XC much, so I don't own a true XC bike. When I do race XC though, I'm usually either racing on my steel Inglis singlespeed or on my 28+ lb 5.25-inch travel Ellsworth Id.

i'm not sure i think it still has the micro drop outs with some improvements i lovr the internal routing hate the sound of cables slaping the have improved since trek took over they use aero space gradient tubing now zirconium 3.4 lbs not bad for aluminium

DH is the only way to roll. 2 broken ribs, fractured wrist, punctures, cuts, gashes, scrapes, and a whole mess of band aids later, here she is...
NICE bike

i also ride a double butted steel frame bike too more of a free ride bike in fact its put me in emergancy a few times so im looking forward to a epic ride no jumps:)

Man, you guys got some sweet bikes!!

I started XC with an older Fisher hardtail, but I want to get a higher end bike.

fishnutham: Your Klein is hot!! I entered their design contests trying to win one of there bikes a few years ago. What components are you gonna put on it?

A FR hardtail? You are brave indeed! My FR bike, an Uzzi SLX, has six inches of front travel and seven inches of rear travel to hopefully keep me out of the emergency room. *crosses fingers*
