I usually start as early as possible. It depends on how much space you have and if you can isolate the dominant and faster growers. By 1" I try and get the number down by half. The last fh spawn I did I was down to 10 growouts from a spawn of 250-300 by 3". Always best to give the ones you like as much clean water and space as you can instead of trying to grow them all in crowded tanks and dirty water.

I have them at 80° now. What can I do.to help kickoff the spawning process? Power feeding, water changes and leave them.alone?
