Any shortbody breeders still on mfk?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
These will just be considered an outcross really. I would like to work the fry into a nice line of massively pearled healthy shortbody that are mainly pure carpintis. The thai female has a great boxy shape and the sb dad is crazy. I will work these into my ongoing sb rt line. I cant wait for these fry to grow.

Funny female fader that wants to spawn with my thai silk flowerhorn.

I will. It will be nice to see the pearls on the fry from that pair. Should be interesting.

I agree ... Everything looks really good! I will be aiming for the same ..improving the sb tex' with mane some parrot to see what it brings. Will be heating a pond this coming spring for the best of them to try ;)

dam you still breeding these guys? What's the latest update on your's?

I often work out of town, came home today to see the dominant male SB in full breeding dress. The red parrot is now in with them, and hidden in a cave. He is chasing all other SB Tex's away, and other fish , and is digging holes around the cave. Its a big structure though and I cant see inside. If they have bred, will know in a while when they bring them out. Here is a quick pic of him.photo-1.JPGphoto.JPG

That parrot has an awesome color I do hope its female. Ive found that fader fry from my kkp end up with lots of color variation from deep red to weak yellow. I hope you get plenty of RED fry. I cant wait to see what happens.

Im not sure whats going on...he is guarding the area around the cave the parrot it is, but also seems quite aggressive with "her" ... I'm not convinced the parrot is female. The Parrot came out, went for a stroll and his black/white breeding colors went extremely intense and he chased it around the tank until it went back in the cave. Im not sure if these breeding colors, especially to this extent are also extreme territorial colors? also he may be mistaking the parrot for female.... We shall see I guess. Didnt notice a fat dropped tube though on the parrot in its brief appearance. Weird thing going on here lol
