Anybody else here who uses only de-chlorinator and nothing else?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Chemicals are not bad, a lot of them can help. Saying that newbies buy chemicals is like saying that just because you see a complete idiot buying a certain brand of tires, that everyone who buys that brand is stupid. You are generalizing "chemicals" into harmful chemicals, and that is completely wrong.

I use API Tapwater conditioner, just because it does what I need (slight dechlor and heavy metals), and it does it cheap.

I think that you could safely revise your statement to "Newbies use excessive and unnecessary chemicals."

Also, aeration does not get rid of chloramines, so quite a few people are unable to age their water as their sole means of treatment. Please understand what you are talking about before you make broad generalizations about the experience and knowledge of others. Thank you for your time :)

I might be But its a risk i will not take again.

Just because you used the wrong chemical does not mean that all chemicals are bad and should not be used. Just because little billy ate the copper chloride and died, does not mean that the sodium chloride is going to kill little billy's brother when he gets his mother's meatloaf for dinner that night :D
