Bump for MFK muscle hedz and gym rats! I used to hit the steel 4-5 times a week till I got old, broke my foot playin rec league bball, and got knee issues (found out I got arthritis in one knee). So for like the last 18 months been a fat slob. But not anymore, its time to hit that gut buster new year's resolution now! Get ur swole on MFK!!!

I used to lift a fair bit around 2013 then broke my collar bone which was a step back and never really pushed myself in chest for a while. Started lifting again now, 4-5 times a week. Always enjoy it. My goal is around 5'9 190lbs

ditto. I messed myself up pretty bad this year. I stopped lifting last November and this year got back into sparring w/ my friend and MMA training......man, now I see why a lot of those guys retire before they're 40.....i'm 36 and It's just not thhe same as taking hits when your in your early 20's . The next day always sucks haha. Making a "comeback" at 36 isn't as easy as I thought it would be. Whole thing might get scrapped since my sparring partner has some strange pain that goes from his lungs to his back muscles (maybe spine) so he needs to get checked out, but he's too proud and tough for Dr.s and we will probably have to drag him kicking and screaming LOL

I lift 3-4 times per week, then swim and bike too. Was a personal trainer for a good number of years. Used to lift really heavy, but from injuries, trying to increase the weight back up. Current favorite lifts are deadlift and front squat.:) + any back exercise.

It's great to hear that other people on MFK also lift!

I used to be so proud of my leg PR's, 450 squat ONCE lol...put up 850 or something on the leg press trying to outlift a marine on the machine next to me...then bilateral patellar tendinitis punched me right in the knees lol.

You American dudes are strong as ****, everyone that benches over there seems to be doing 300lbs + lol. I'm dragging myself back to the gym tonight, since getting into a relationship I have slacked off the gym big time :P

I've been messing with Bulgarian split squats, but I just want to get my deadlift up and get proficient on the gymnastic rings etc.

I like the idea of crossfit I.e. applications across the board, but I think their execution is flawed imo in that they lack programming and dedication to big exercises that would yield the most benefits.

I enjoyed doing 531 for a couple of years, no major lifts to write home about, but I felt healthy and generally strong for my size; but let myself get distracted with other exercises...Simple is best!
