Anybody into weight lifting/body building?

Any type of movement is gonna burn calories. The average person burns around 1500kcals just from homeostasis but I do a lot of active rests between sets as well as actual cardio (stairs, spin bike, eliptical or swimming). I just eat a lot of food. I consume around 5000cal/day and I'm 5'8" and 185lbs.

I know but what I mean is how to not lose strength when you lose weight. Last time I dropped with high cardio my maxes slowly dwindled as I lost weight. I know everything burns calories but when you do too much cardio I was under the impression it burns muscle too

Up your protein intake to 1-1/2 to 2g per lb of body weight and 1g per lb of body weight for carbs. Stick to complex carbs like potatoes, veggies and brown rice. This way you're supplying your muscles with enough protein to keep building themselves and enough carbs so that it doesn't use nutrients from your muscle

I'm actually wondering if I will have a six pack after I get surgery. I'm thinking I will but I'll just have to wait and see. I'm getting it on June 20th so pretty soon.

Depends where they're making the incision. You said its on your chest right? I don't see why they would have to cut through your abs
