Anybody into weight lifting/body building?

Yup I started as a kid but if you can find the right spots in one hell of a work out haha we have a big looping sort of trail now through the area we do it most at, probably about a mile and we race from interval to interval in about 1/4 mile sprints. I just haven't found anything else that's a full body workout and so much fun haha the gym bores me, no offense to the gym guys but outdoor exercise is so much more fun

The gym can be boring but once you start seeing results it becomes addictive. Plus there's not as many hot girls out in the woods. :D Haha but I do love being out in the wilderness, that's one of the things I miss most about living in Minnesota.

Anything outside, I look at as strictly cardio. You can't really get real gains unless you're pushing weights. The gym will get boring if you let it. If you look at it differently, for example, have real goals in mind whether it is to hit a certain weight, put on some size or improve your health, if you just focus on that, the gym doesn't get boring as long as you mix up the workouts

I love trial running, nothing like you and nature!

The only down side of trail running in the summer is that I would always come out of the woods with either mosquito bites or ticks. Not always attached but sometimes I would find over 10 crawling on my clothes.

I'm with this guy. I just had a 32 mile trail race last week. It was just an awesome day !!

I think the obstacle/mud races are a blast, at lot different from the cross country races i used to do!

The way exercise in general works for me is--

How is this going to make me more badass? (As in help me in an emergency situation, anything really, fights being in a rush, or even just improve my coordination in general)

On one section of our little "track" we chose a spot with more things you'd need to push off on or pull yourself up to get the arms in play. Also you need to do a monkey bars section we made out of cushioned re-bar in a dry creek bed so its kinda like pull ups and push ups, we have a rule, never go under. If there is a log at neck height you need to lift yourself up n over. That one we made purely for arms.

So we do get in arms and chest by all the different lifting of ourselves, cardio, and most importantly hand eye hand foot reactions. That's what I like to sharpen, I enjoy being able to snatch a fly with my periff vision, hit a hacky sack with a spinning kick from behind me lol stuff like that. Its really helped my fighting too, I've been sparring with my friends who train mma for a few years now and since I decided to focus on those instead of on like bigger muscle I block more efficiently, strike with better accuracy, and my foot work is better.

I also literally catch almost everything I drop hahaha

Anything outside? I disagree. Calisthenics can definitely get you bigger, stronger, and more endurance.
