Anybody-- old old car buffs.. need to ID ???

I'm gonna ask some of the old-timers at work tomorrow.

The only thing i have come up with a name is Rim Jack only because i found a model T with a mention of one.. but i am still not sure...old timers might know..i hope...

its a old school car jack.No Jack at all...it is called a A Rim Spreader......................yes i finally found out the name... and it is used on wooden spoke wheels to put the tire on the rim... thanks guys for all your help...if it wasn't for you i would still be in deep mystery...but you gave me all the info i needed to continue searching ....and now i know....!!!!

I think it is a bead strecher for mounting tires.

i never would have guessed.. i was certain it was a jack to lift the car. but then all of my experience with cars only goes back to the 60's.. the oldest car i own is a 61 Ford Falcon.

There is no way you would get this one unless you had experience with old cars with wooden wheels... you were not alone thinking it was some sort of car jack...even a few of the older car buffs thought it was... and in the beginning we thought it was... but it did not stand on its own so we knew it would not work as a jack..thanks for trying... people who give it a shot led us to the answer..
