Anyone do this- goPro

Interesting videos. I was considering putting a webcam in silicone. Haven't found a how to good enough to make sure I don't forfeit the camera though.

The video quality differences are probably based on the light sources in the videos. I've noticed that my camera (Hero3 White) doesn't perform well in low light. The video I posted last night was taken during the day with a lot of light coming in from the patio blinds. That seems to be key from what I've personally experienced so far with my camera at least.

And while I can't speak for anyone else's video, mine was done in 1080p. From what I've learned about the Hero 3 series, the white is pretty much the same as the Hero2, the silver is the same as the HeroHD, and the black is superior to anything that they had out there. THe only other real differences between the series are that the 3's have built in wifi and are a bit smaller and have some improvement in the lenses to reduce the fisheye effect when compared to the 2s.

Sometime in the next week or so I'm going to try setting my camera up in one of my wolf tanks and catch them feeding on rosies from that angle.

I can really see the difference in video quality too. My Gopro is an older one. Bought it about 5 years ago and used it as a helmet-cam while dirtbiking. I have lots of vids dirtbiking, and they all seem to be of good quality, but under water, not so much. lol

I shot mine with a GoPro Hero 3 Silver in 1080p, and I agree, I think the lighting is really what hurts the quality of the shot. I'll probably try again with a different setup

Another trick you might consider, Beast, is to have the lighting BEHIND the camera...so that it's illuminating your subject but not creating a ton of glare in your video. Move your camera to the top of the tank, looking either sideways or down at the fish, see what that does.

Yeah I noticed it got a lot better towards the end of the video when I picked it up and did just that. I'm going to try to figure out a way I can get a good shot of them feeding at the surface without the glare

Thought I'd post another "from the tank" video...hope y'all enjoy!

So i was checking out Amazon and it seems the newer GoPro Hero 3 comes with quite a few freezing problems, and a battery that over-heats?

Might have to wait a while and see if they fix these problems before i run out and go buy one...
