Anyone going to see the Karate Kid?

No, it looks horrid. Pretty sure the only reason why Will Smith's kid is in it, is because he is Will Smith's kid. He isn't a good actor. Also Jackie Chan is too young to play Mr. Miyagi.
^I totally agree. I will probably end up seeing it anyway; some people (fools) I know want to see it.
How can they call it Karate Kid when there will be absolutely no Karate in it? They say Kung Fu repeatedly in the trailer. Why not call it Kung Fu Kid and say its a "spiritual sequel" rather than a remake?

Yeah, the Karate Kid title is about as out of place in this movie as it is outdated.I took my son to see it and it was'nt bad,it was a little long though.
Ralph Macchio and Pat Morita are a hard act to follow. Will Smith's son is too young and small to play the role and Jackie Chan is just too young. Young Smith is not even in puberty, yet. We've become accustomed to seeing martial arts masters as being older and wiser than Chan comes across as being. I don't think Chan can pull it off.

i think he's perfect for the role. He's internationally known and is probably the main reason anyone would want to see this movie.
I made a thread about this movie a while ago. there was thoughts about calling it The Kung Fu Kid, which they should've done. I won't see this on big screen. Don't like the fact that the main character is too young. It's funny to me that a single black woman will move her kid to China also. If they were going to redo a classic like Karate Kid, they shouldn't have made the lead role so young. and in the trailer where the kids that pick on will smith's son actually fights jackie chan is just too funny to me. I can't take this serious.
but the guy in Iron Monkey is in it. I'm a fan of his,............ krichardson, how was his role? is he the leader of the kobra kai?
