In Iron Monkey he played the Iron Monkey lol, the good guy and main character.

anyways, the guy that plays Iron Monkey is dope, and from what you're saying about his role in Karate Kid, he'd be the one I'd be most excited about if or when I see the movie. "more intense" huh? interesting
Yeah I have the movie in my collection somewhere and I have'nt watched it in years so I never would have recognized the guy as the Iron Monkey star if you had'nt mentioned it..I know quite a few years have passed and all but he just looks soo different....I love those sorts of feudal/dynasty era kung fu movies. The Five Deadly Venoms type movies are still among my favorites.

I heard its a good movie. I think they screwed up trying to "replace mr.myagi" When they should have just invented a new character, because anyone coming in after myagi will never be as good.
I had'nt planned on going to see the movie(I'm waiting for the Predator movie next month:D) but my son wanted to see it but I actually enjoyed it and apparently so did quite a few others across the country judging by the box office numbers. It just seems like a lot of people on here are turned off or even offended?over who was chosen to play the main characters.Jackie Chan was pretty good in the role,I don't see it as a replacement for Miyagi because Chans is a totally different character.

Thats probably him that leads the Kobra Kai just as you said. The Once Upon a Time movies were good but my all time favorites have to be Kid with the Golden Arm and Masked Avengers...Have you seen these?

well for seeing the movie i belive it was a pretty good movie i would not call it a remake more of a reinvention...... but i personally belive that jaden smith "Will smiths son " played his role to par. out side of his youth and all i think that if they would have choosen a older charecter learning karate for the first time and going to a tournament and beating kids who have been doing karate as long as they could walk would be outrageous. His age was perfect i belive and as stated Jakie Played his part to par as well he was completely diff from the old character as well new name and all (Han) so ...... and the whole race thing shouldn't matter it kinda made since she was a office worked for a car manufacture (Detroit) who moved to china because the company was out sourced makes since to me.... but all in all it was a decent movie a bit slow at times but all in all good.

I'll have to look them up. I'm visiting the inlaws in Minnesota early July. There's a movie store in one of the malls that has tons and tons of movies. I always hit up that place to buy some movies everytime i visit. I'll have to see if they got them.

have you seen:
Fong Sai Yuk
A Man Called Hero
Sword of Zen or Zen of Sword (don't remember)
Bride with the White Hair
Thai Chi Master

just wondering, those are some I enjoyed watching, in the early 80's i was just a kid. I grew up more on bruce lee and then jet li, some jackie. but bruce and jet are my 2 favs. then donnie yen and the guy that plays seven in the Once Upon a Time movies,..... among a few others

the newer stars and movies are ok, crouching tiger, house of flying daggers, hero,........... the technology are a lot better and they can do a lot more things but i think they're not as good as the late 80's-90's ones

I think Thai Chi Master is the only one on that list that I can recall seeing but that looks like a good list for me to work on...I too was a kid when these films were first released and there was a neighborhood theater back then that showed these movies on Sunday so that was the place to be most weekends...Bruce Lee is one of my favorite Martial Arts stars but I like these other films over his mainly because of the better over all action and the sets and props.

i hear on the radio Karate Kid was #1 last weekend. is that true?

anyways, true bruce lee's movies did not seem to have as much action, props and better sets, but they were like a decade before. they had less to work with and was ahead of it's time at the time. the kung fu movies evolved after bruce lee made his mark but it all started from him imo. or he took it to another level and raised the bar

i didn't realize the picture of bruce lee's master in Chinese Connection is the same picture jet li used in his tribute to bruce in Fist of Legend. just a little trivia
