rich

rays are and can be very delicate to large changes in water parameters you never quite know what the supply guys are sending to you depending on how fast you pass water through your hma filter will reflect the levels of clorine and cloramine in the water adding the temperature change just of late and probaly the disolved levels of metals from the feed water increasing how longs a piece of string

the problems could be endless never the less for a parisite to get a established hold of your animals you can expect that they have suffered some stress for the parisite to get such a hold, if indeed your rays have that problem

talk later

the HMA letting stuff throw was my 1st thought so the 1st thing i done was dose the whole tank with tap water conditioner

i have no idea now and like you say i can be going around and around for ages to try to find out whats wrong

if every ray in the tank had the problem then yes i could blame water conditions or a parasite

if it was stress that made them weak letting the parasite get in then the little female leo should have been the 1st to be affected after being beat up by the male p14 but she is normal the bite marks have all healed and she is feeding great

High temps can help with parasites and increase appetite. But in my experience you need to be looking a bit higher than 90f to get the best results.

what temp would you recommend

i agree with you rich but leos i have found to be bullet proof ,however as you are aware i have had problems with p14 and low doses of insectisides fed to my rays threw river shrimp kept at a local nursery and sold to myself

is ther no change at present ?

well they are a bit more active but i would think so as the temp is now up to 91f

the fits don't seam to be as much as before

i understand what you are saing about insecticides and river shrimp but i would expect that to kill off the rays fast like over night

34 rich thats 93.2 you wont need to over worry about oxygen as the salt will help

up it goes to 93 then over night

the insectiside in my p14 took over 3 weeks to kill my animals rich

if nothing else mate we can compare electric bills

im uploading a video to you tube now i will post a link later

i cant upload the video

i just got of the phone to Nico and he thinks its a digestion problem andto up the temp to 34 and add more salt
