have read your post a few minutes ago for the first time and have had a look at your video.....
First: You are a really lucky guy, that your rays are still alive after your yet again esha treatment
. Something in your tank must absorb copper, maybe your high carbonate hardness combined with your pH......esha is definitely not ray safe!! Please do a big water excange as soon as possible and never use esha again for your rays!
Your P14 are suffering from gill worms! The sometimes "gulping movements" during breathing heavy, which can be seen for a few times in the first part of your video, are typical. I would not wonder, if additionally they'd also breath onesided from time to time?
Raising temperature is contraproductive now!
Breathing is not easy for your rays after the massive increase of this gill parasiste, as you can easily see on your video (or by looking into your tank). Raising the temperature lowers the oxygene level in your water and makes everything worse! Tropical gill parasites are not impressed very much by the higher temperature. I'd go to 82-84.
Salt does not solve the problem here. It can help for a short time, cause the gills will release slime, but it wont solve the problem. I would not use it here, cause it'll also affect your filter bacteria!
Using a medicine with the active ingredient Praziquantel, will solve the heavy breathing problem within a few hours and I'd bet, that they'll all eat again within only 24 hours......if they are not damaged too much from your "additional treatments"
You can use Tremazol, but I'd prefer Wormex out of the koi sector, it's working much better.
Tremazol has to be used 2 or better 3 times within a certain interval, depending on the individual water temperature which regulates the developement of the gill worms eggs. Eggs cannot be affected by Praziquantel and you must get the hatched worms before laying eggs again.......or you will get the same probleme a few days/weeks/months later once again. Tremazol must be removed of the tank within 8-10 hours, because of the possible massive bacteria explosion (filter bacteria) and used again after the right time, which is difficult. Wormex can be left in the tank for at least 10 DAYS and within that time, it'll kill almost all worms, cause almost all worms hatch during 10 period of time. You'll never be able to gill all rays parasites, but you can kill as much, that the ray can handle the rest of them allone. As you can now for sure read between the lines, you do not have to have brought the parasites inside the tank now, they could also have been in the P14 since years and could break out because of stress, which P14 are very impressable for......I also had this problem for a few times within the last years....always after I tried to combine them with leopoldi
meanwhile I've given up to try that.
There is no need to hurry, lower the temperature, dont do any nonsens like esha or salt now and try to get the right medicine. Gill worm's won't kill your rays that quick.....the most dangerous this is the keepers impatience and fear. Dont forget to remove your cabon- and polyfilter when using medicine.
btw: I am sure about what I am telling you, believe me, I am a breeder and I'd have plenty of quarantaine tanks
