Anyone Have Frontier as a Cable/Internet Provider?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Do this things get local channels and the common ones(USA,syfy, TNT)?

From what I understand you get anything and everything. Even new movies that just hit the theaters. You can watch TV shows live too. My nephew just got it recently.

My question then is, how's the quality?

And I was just looking around for a 4k tv that I will be purchasing, does fire stick/kodi get you 4k material???

For new movies....the quality is not so great. But if you wait a couple of weeks a HD or 1080p quality will eventually show up.

Fire stick box is what u want as it's not as there performance issues with the fire stick. It will not get you 4K quality movies, imo.

Keep in mind patches come out to stop this and eventually will become permanently blocked.

I don't have one but I know someone with one.

I also have frontier. They are pricey and I myself am looking to rid of cable. There are options out there like sling tv and YouTube red. Something to think about.

The android tv box I have says itll do 4K, but only if you can find someones thats hosting it in 4k.
Highest ive seen is 1080.

Using the applications within kodi, you can watch new movies or old. Tvs...kinda like on demand, and some live streaming tv.

Only downfall with streaming a 1080p movie, itll eat up your bandwidth. Need a good internet speed. 15mb/s is acceptable for SD content. I have 100mb/s connection, and sometimes a 1080 movie lags. Ill usually just stick with 720 to avoid those issues. But for $40 initial cost, im not complaining.

I looked into sling about a year ago, reviews on the service were terrible. Id avoid it unless its gotten better.

Service is better. Still limited to one tv but in the works for multiple monitors. A bit buggy but pricing is really good.

I'm looking at ps vue. More channel selection and supports up to 5 monitors. Plus I have a psn account. Pricing is similar to sling for the amount of channels. So will see. Looking to cancel my triple play with frontier and get just internet. Will see how it goes.

Someone said earlier, get the box as opposed to the stick. Processing power is better than the stick.
The box is less glitchy and has better performance. Better playback overall. Best Buy is selling them.

well, the box better be better, it costs roughly twice as much.

and you can install kodi on the box the same way you do fire stick right?

thanks guys, good stuff to know. i'll have to check my local best buy
