:headbang2 Same for the beanies. :headbang2 Tydus, wanna split shipping when the time comes? :headbang2:D

Unlike some of the other Beani posts.... I'm not putting the cart in front of the horse ("counting my chickens" if you will). You might want to contact the other pro's (esp. back East) about their perspective spawns...... I'm just floating by......

BTW, did you arrange delivery of the RTMs? I'm gonna start another RTM post in the CA/SA section.

So the fish he will be selling aren't in the states yet? Or are they juv.from his breeding stock? For those prices they better be Wild Caught, but thats just my personal opinion.

What I figured when I was trying to organize things with Oliver was just for the fish. If we ordered more than six the price dropped down to $90 a fish, instead of $100 a fish. Not very significant, but still enough to make it worth while. THEN you had to have them imported, inpected, and then shipped out to you again. All in all it rounded out to be about $300 to $400 just for the shipping and fee's. The more people involved, the cheaper it got. Just some food for thought.

House, can you have the seller register here and come talk to us first hand? Something of this order needs to be dealt with up front. I'm sure it would make people feel more comfortable if they knew who they were buying from as well.

BTW...when did they become Nandopsis? I though they were still Cichlasoma or ExCichlasoma? Very cool. :)

Lol, we're gonna meet up in a lps parking lot along with another member cause Imma give that member my spare dovi. It'll happen either tomorrow or next weekend. Then I gotta ship my female rt to thefishguy.

Btw, any good info on those fish you're looking to get? They bloat easily as juvis? Or are they relatively hardy? Guessing that they are sensitive fish, ergo the reason they aren't abundant in the hobby yet.

Jer..... I've emailed him and stated that I would start a thread here on this forum after I saw that he was familiar with some online forums. Apparently he's a Moderator on the "Other" Forum (WW), I mentioned to him that I would start up a thread to get the ball rolling and recommended he sign up if he had hoped to get fellow hobbyist to sign up for the pre-order. And Yes, the price reflected is for F0. I should just post his entire email here..... He's a very knowledgible guy when it comes to fish!

First email from Grey:

"We just got in the true Nandopsis ornatum (the yellow version that Seichi has on W W ). Check the video at youtube. Punch in cichlasoma ornatum

We can get more-they arent cheap unfortunately. Crazy..."

Second email from Grey:

"Yeah, I figured if you had beani that this would interest you. These are considered the holy grail of CA cichlids by many due to rarity and looks. Beani, marcracanthus, and steindachneri are very close to the holy grail....but they arent pretty and never had the staying power in the late 80's early 90's to stay in the hobby. I remember when those three were under $10 retail!! Now they are $100+ each for 1" fish!

We will be taking preorders for 3" fish soon. We bought 6 for a local guy (the guy who did the video) to see how they looked and they are correct-one was killed in transit-you can hear him saying which store that got these fish in for him in the video (A Place for Pets-thats us). In fact-we are buying them from the same source that Seichi got the large ones from awhile back. Im not sure if you saw the photos of Seichi's-I attached it for you. There are a couple of variations on them supposedly, but considering that there is literally no info on the fish, I dont know the different varieties. I can say that the fish we brought in were collected at the same location that the one in the photo is from.

If we cannot get enough people that want this fish at $110-120ea, we will not be able to make it worth the cost with the US Fish and Wildlife, Shipping, DOA's, etc. The price is an estimate based on what we paid last time. Don't expect them real soon-itll be at least a month and a half before it happens. We need at least 40-45 presold prior to ordering. Its a large investment to bring this type of thing in wild."

I have dealt/talked with Grey a few times, he is a pretty cool guy for the most part. :) I am confused about the Washington part though, thought he was in Texas?

BTW...I'm a member on many forums. ;) Just cuz your a mod doesn't mean you have to seclude yourself to one forum. :)

What is the dead line for the preorders? You guys need to set one up, and stick to it. Otherwise you will have people trying to get in, and others that are backing out. Believe me, I went through it all trying to set up the group order. Rather annoying to say the least. Just a tip. :)
