just taken this picture...very silver chrome skin..

That catfish is not a Brachyplatystoma flavicans it is Brachyplatystoma rousseauxii. 2 different species. The flavicans are gray and spotted when they are small and grow fast as hell. The rousseauxii is gold and I have only seen a picture of one that was about 24 inches and still gold. Planet catfish shows a guy with a huge one on his back, but I am not sure if that is a rousseauxii or flavicans. I have had one for about 8 months now and it has been a PIA to feed. I finally got it feeding on krill and silversides, but they have to hit him in the face.

No it is not. I have seen both of these fish side by side at about the 2 inch size and they are not the same.

filamentosum

rousseauxii
http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/species.php?species_id=944

It does seem like there is confusion and I am not saying I am correct, but they sure look like 2 different fish. The rousseauxii hardly has any barbels and the filamentosum does.

Yes they are different. I mean flavicans & rousseaxii is the same fish. Not filamentosum

No worry how about sharing some picture of your fish.

Here you go. This is a pic when I added him to my 180. I had him for months before that. His face healed right up after the 2 week freak out time. I have had this guy since he was about 3 inches in a smaller tank.
