Anyone race cars?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
That's a lot of boost on that little engine. How do you control excess heat and stress on the engine?

They can turn corners?

(Couldn't help it)

The Z06 frame weighs 150lbs. It's agile.

Forged pistons, forged rodsand my engine building skills :)

Heat is the same as naturally aspirated cars..a bit on the high side, but with a pusher and puller fans combine with thick core radiator, it stays around 180 degrees.

Of course, I am only running straight water with a tablespoon of dishwashing liquid :) to keep it cooled.

For the most part, I break drivetrain parts. Gear set, gear set and more gear set...

One guy put a huge turbo on his Ion Redline, and had massive problems with heat, even with a Cobra heat exchanger. Perhaps he was doing it wrong.

1000 horse vipers?:grinno:not in stock trim. 250 horse supercharger install? maybe w/ cam, heads, exhaust, reprogram and injectors:nilly: and do you always run w? the cam drive belt loose and the pyrometer out of the down pipe? :naughty:. huh good thing this is a fish site or you may look a little silly:ROFL: oh and ewurm vettes dont have frames:naughty:

Good intake and exhaust manifold fabrication should be the best cure for keeping a little engine like that moving and not suffer heat damage and send a rod through the side of the block. My CBR has around 17:1 compression the cure for keeping it alive was forged rods, head, and intake work. I know its not a car with a hood and an engine bay and firewall to trap heat in but it basically the same principles.

running a big truck turbo builds crazy heat if you try n drive it. but really doesnt show up in 1/4 mile runs.any racer at a drag strip keeps ice pacs on hand for a reason!

I love autosports. I have an 89 civic hatch that a friend and i built and its a fun quick little car. i was born and raised in Asheville, nc so we used to go to Deals Gap all the time. I put some photos from there down below. I also race my supermotos when i get a chance. Fun sport. enjoy.
